Keeping up with the Kiddos

I decided to keep a kind of journal for all the fun things that go on in our family.

* Sweet baby Corbin is growing up so fast he is the best little baby he loves me the most and isn't too happy with anyone else ahh I must admit I kinda loves this knowing when he gets older daddy will become more of a favorite then mommy who has all the rules and makes them eat healthy things to not just a bag of chips for dinner.

*Taygen knows his way around town it seems like everyday he's giving me driving directions to get to favorite places like target or grandma's and grandpa's house he starts saying right there and points which direction he wants me to turn so he can navigate his way there it's hard when thats not where we are going he gets pretty upset when I don't follow his instructions.

* Tay loves his daddy and trys to mimic him so he now walks over to me and gives me a little kiss then goes and gets into his cozy coupe and say bye bye seeya. He sees daddy do it and he wants to be just like daddy.

*Today I did my normal routine of losing it on one of our dogs because he is such a fatty and stole a piece of toast from Taygen I yelled at him and then dragged him over to put him in time out ( the laundry room ). Later that day after Taygen ate lunch and got out of his high chair my other dog takes it upon himself to jump up into the high chair and get all the last crumbs left in the highchair. I notice Taygen come over and yell at the dog and got him out of his chair which is normal procedure for Taygen. The next part was new, he then chased the dog around with quick yells and took him by the collar and preceded to drag him ( very slowly of course ) over to the laundry room to put him in time out. I said nothing just watched him and laughed as he tried about three times to succeed in actually getting him al the way to the laundry room and shutting the door. What a cutie!

*Taygens new favorite food is POPCORN. He loves it so much if he even spots the bowl I normally put it in he will cry with anticipation. I went and bought those mini bags of microwave popcorn which Taygen loves so much he will eat the entire bowl full.

*I think Taygen likes to hear me say thank you to him because he has started to bring me things all the time with this proud look on his face. The other day I was sitting on one couch and Tay took every pillow one by one off the other couch and carried them over to me, even the huge back pillows.

*Tay is so funny since he is older now so I have let him have a little toddler size pillow and blanket to sleep with in his bed which has him sleeping better ( thank goodness ) But even during the day he will climb into our bed lay his little head down on one of the pillows and tucks himself into the covers and just lay there and smile:)

*Tay is talking more and more he loves to say hi to everyone and then when you leave he says hi again and waves. I keep saying b.b.bye so he will hear the b but no he just likes to say hi for his bye too.

*Why is it kids find the nastiest things so amusing. Taygen has taken up gagging himself. We can't quite figure out what would be so entertaining with trying to make yourself throw up but Taygen thinks it is very enjoyable. Probably because every time he does it mommy and daddy start telling him yucky Taygen yucky. Which to Taygen translates to if mommy and daddy think it's gross that means it is super cool!

*I am enjoying the coolness of a vegas summer morning by coolness I mean 90 instead of 110 outside. Taygen was puttering around in the backyard and I was reading. Anyone who knows Taygen knows he loves to open and shut any door which was no different this morning. I look up from my book to see not only was he opening and shutting the door but he was transporting the sand from the sand box to the floor of the family room one shovel full at a time. Thats what I get for trying to read while Tay is playing.

*So this morning we did our usual and got Tay out of bed and put him in ours while we watched the latest on the ongoing Olympics. They were talking about the American women's win on the all around gymnastics and were showing highlights. Suddenly perfect timing to the TV showing the girls finish with their arms high in the air Taygen throws his arms up too with accomplishment on his face. Cj and I died laughing.

*Taygen is my little dancing machine anytime he hears music he either does his little skipping dance or puts his little hands up and bounce them around it is so adorable to watch what a little cutie.

*After a pretty long morning with a very energetic 17 month old I was trying to clean up a mess of something that had spilled in the fridge. Taygen of course thought he would entertain himself with smashing the door onto me a few 10 or 20 times. Then it got a little quite I looked up and found Taygen sitting on the floor, he had somehow taken a bottle of salad dressing and also somehow opened it up and poured it onto the floor and preceded to swirl it around with his hands and feet. Ah the joy of children:)

*After a long day I finally climbed into bed Cj had already fallen asleep when I heard what I thought was laughing coming from the baby monitor. I ignored it at first but then this little laughing voice came through the monitor again. This was odd because Taygen had been asleep for a while now. I crept into the room and Taygen was really laughing even though he was fast asleep. He must have been having a really funny dream.

*Taygen is finally talking!! Yeah! Of course all he is saying is awggie ( doggie ) he also is saying Hi. Every once in a while we will get a ma ma and da da. Yeah!

Turning 1!

My sweet little baby Corbin is no longer a little baby. He turning into a little boy full of energy and personality.

At 1: Corbin is

Walking 100% of the time he has really mastered it at this point and is no longer tenative about getting around he is on the move and picking up speed very fast.

He is a picky little eater and I often find myself frustrated with him when it comes to meal time. He is at the stage too of no longer wanting me to feed him things like applesauce or yogurt. Instead he wants control of the spoon and the bowl in front of him. This of course causing large messes at each meal something i'm not enjoying.

He is a great sleeper for naps and bed time you just put him in his bed and he'll chat or putter around and then fall asleep no help needed. It's nice too because even when he wakes up he just patiently waits for someone to come get him.

He loves playing with Taygen if you can call it playing it's usually a battle over toys or Corbin just follwing Taygen around place to place.

He's becoming quite the troublemaker, getting into things pushing buttons and giving quite the sob act when he doesn't get what he wants.

He absolutely hates me cooking dinner! If I head into the kitchen and start fixing dinner he sit on the floor and cries and cries nothing distracts him or pleases him other than me holding him which with hot and sharp things isn't a option.

He doesn't like driving around in the car, he isn't distracted with a movie or toys or even food he just hates being strapped in the little car seat.

He doesn't like Taygen getting the love if Taygen comes over and sits on my lap, Corbin will head righ tover and claw at my legs to get up too.

He always have to have something in his had whether a toothbrush or measuring cup which are his usual favorites.

He loves balls and enjoys a good game of bringing you the ball you throwing it and him going and getting it and bringing it back. ( yes fetch I know, but the kid loves it! )

Mom is still his favorite but he is taking to other people more and more.

He is a great little addition to our family and we love him beyond words. we can't help but smile watching this cute little boy learning new things everyday. Happy 1 year Corbin Love, Mom, Dad & Tay Tay

Beach Babes

I love going to California and so do my kids, there's always good food, great weather and lots of good times to be had. We headed down to Huntington Beach for Memorial Day with the family and had to have some fun down on the beach. My husband claims to hate sand! party pooper! My kids though love it !

Of course as all kids do on their first beach trip Corbin did eat a little sand. He had a blast playing in it but he did take a few nibbles of it too.

Taygen got right in the water and loved it even with it being freezing as the ocean always is. Of course after a while he was freezing and stayed wrapped in this towel sitting in the chair for probably 30 minutes.

Things actually do grow in the DESERT!

Here is a little garden update. The picture below is from about a month ago ( i'm just now getting it blogged ) the garden has grown a lot more as the weather starts heating up. The garden is my new pastime and I am loving it, I usually spend just a few minutes everyday walking out and around it to see all the new things growing and check for any bugs. I will say it has taken a little getting used to watching all the different bugs that live in a garden and crawl one your food not something you usually experience just heading to the grocery store. Everything is doing really well though I was worried about being here in vegas but as you can see with the right soil everything is happy and healthy:)

These are potatoes straight out of the garden and I got this amount of potatoes from only harvesting about 1/3 of my plants. I was looking to make some room, otherwise you can leave them in and they just continue to grow more and more.

These are my first 3 ripe tomatoes! My tomatoes plants are growing like weeds and there are plenty more coming and lots of different varieties of tomatoes to come these are just my first ones and let me tell you they were delicious!

10 months

Our little bean is 10 months old and growing up fast. At 10 months

He is a crawling machine

Stands up on everything and anything

Will walk along everything as long as he has a hand on something, he will let go of the say coffee table and just stand there giving you a look like i'm gonna go for it mom, and then gives up and just crawls instead.

He isn't really into baby food anymore he would prefer to eat anything you are eating.

He is sleeping really well and is better at taking naps

He wants to be like his brother so bad, he will just follow Taygen around with this longing look.

He LOVES mama the best! ( gotta love that )

He babbles mama and dada

He loves to play outside and the second the door opens he is on his way out. He just crawls all around the backyard grass, cement or rocks won't keep him back. His favorite is to make his way over to mama's garden and try and play in the dirt.

He hates feeling left out down on the floor so he will follow me around whining to get picked up so he can be apart of everything going on.

He loves the dishwasher it's one of his favorite places to play ( not my favorite of course )

His favorite toy right now is a ballon

He is a dancing fool and any sign of music he is bouncing around getting his groove on

He is just the happiest go with the flow baby and we are loving every minute of him:)

He does this finger thing all the time it's super cute

He makes the funniest noises and faces I don't think I could ever capture all of them

This is sweet baby lola and corbin, one of my best friends stopped in town and we got to watch lola for a few hours these two loved having another baby around

long awaited garden

I grew up with a garden it's something I have wanted to do for a while. Last year I was research and got books and read up and was all ready to do it but then with a baby on the way I didn't think it was quite the right time but a month ago my parents were down and we spotted some box frames at Sams Club and now here we are! I have planted about everything you can think of for this particular season at least at everything is growing great! I am very excited about having it and being able to eat from it. It's a fun project and a hobby I am really enjoying i'll post some more recent picks later it's already growing away:)

a bunny visited our house!

This year the easter bunny visited our house and Taygen couldn't be more excited! Of course the fact that it was a bunny visiting didn't go over especially when he ran to the window to peek at grandpa putting the eggs in the yard. We started the day off by taking the kids down to the Bellagio to see all the pretty flowers and watch the fountain show then it was home for egg hunting and a yummy dinner.
