Keeping up with the Kiddos

I decided to keep a kind of journal for all the fun things that go on in our family.

* Sweet baby Corbin is growing up so fast he is the best little baby he loves me the most and isn't too happy with anyone else ahh I must admit I kinda loves this knowing when he gets older daddy will become more of a favorite then mommy who has all the rules and makes them eat healthy things to not just a bag of chips for dinner.

*Taygen knows his way around town it seems like everyday he's giving me driving directions to get to favorite places like target or grandma's and grandpa's house he starts saying right there and points which direction he wants me to turn so he can navigate his way there it's hard when thats not where we are going he gets pretty upset when I don't follow his instructions.

* Tay loves his daddy and trys to mimic him so he now walks over to me and gives me a little kiss then goes and gets into his cozy coupe and say bye bye seeya. He sees daddy do it and he wants to be just like daddy.

*Today I did my normal routine of losing it on one of our dogs because he is such a fatty and stole a piece of toast from Taygen I yelled at him and then dragged him over to put him in time out ( the laundry room ). Later that day after Taygen ate lunch and got out of his high chair my other dog takes it upon himself to jump up into the high chair and get all the last crumbs left in the highchair. I notice Taygen come over and yell at the dog and got him out of his chair which is normal procedure for Taygen. The next part was new, he then chased the dog around with quick yells and took him by the collar and preceded to drag him ( very slowly of course ) over to the laundry room to put him in time out. I said nothing just watched him and laughed as he tried about three times to succeed in actually getting him al the way to the laundry room and shutting the door. What a cutie!

*Taygens new favorite food is POPCORN. He loves it so much if he even spots the bowl I normally put it in he will cry with anticipation. I went and bought those mini bags of microwave popcorn which Taygen loves so much he will eat the entire bowl full.

*I think Taygen likes to hear me say thank you to him because he has started to bring me things all the time with this proud look on his face. The other day I was sitting on one couch and Tay took every pillow one by one off the other couch and carried them over to me, even the huge back pillows.

*Tay is so funny since he is older now so I have let him have a little toddler size pillow and blanket to sleep with in his bed which has him sleeping better ( thank goodness ) But even during the day he will climb into our bed lay his little head down on one of the pillows and tucks himself into the covers and just lay there and smile:)

*Tay is talking more and more he loves to say hi to everyone and then when you leave he says hi again and waves. I keep saying b.b.bye so he will hear the b but no he just likes to say hi for his bye too.

*Why is it kids find the nastiest things so amusing. Taygen has taken up gagging himself. We can't quite figure out what would be so entertaining with trying to make yourself throw up but Taygen thinks it is very enjoyable. Probably because every time he does it mommy and daddy start telling him yucky Taygen yucky. Which to Taygen translates to if mommy and daddy think it's gross that means it is super cool!

*I am enjoying the coolness of a vegas summer morning by coolness I mean 90 instead of 110 outside. Taygen was puttering around in the backyard and I was reading. Anyone who knows Taygen knows he loves to open and shut any door which was no different this morning. I look up from my book to see not only was he opening and shutting the door but he was transporting the sand from the sand box to the floor of the family room one shovel full at a time. Thats what I get for trying to read while Tay is playing.

*So this morning we did our usual and got Tay out of bed and put him in ours while we watched the latest on the ongoing Olympics. They were talking about the American women's win on the all around gymnastics and were showing highlights. Suddenly perfect timing to the TV showing the girls finish with their arms high in the air Taygen throws his arms up too with accomplishment on his face. Cj and I died laughing.

*Taygen is my little dancing machine anytime he hears music he either does his little skipping dance or puts his little hands up and bounce them around it is so adorable to watch what a little cutie.

*After a pretty long morning with a very energetic 17 month old I was trying to clean up a mess of something that had spilled in the fridge. Taygen of course thought he would entertain himself with smashing the door onto me a few 10 or 20 times. Then it got a little quite I looked up and found Taygen sitting on the floor, he had somehow taken a bottle of salad dressing and also somehow opened it up and poured it onto the floor and preceded to swirl it around with his hands and feet. Ah the joy of children:)

*After a long day I finally climbed into bed Cj had already fallen asleep when I heard what I thought was laughing coming from the baby monitor. I ignored it at first but then this little laughing voice came through the monitor again. This was odd because Taygen had been asleep for a while now. I crept into the room and Taygen was really laughing even though he was fast asleep. He must have been having a really funny dream.

*Taygen is finally talking!! Yeah! Of course all he is saying is awggie ( doggie ) he also is saying Hi. Every once in a while we will get a ma ma and da da. Yeah!

Little Corbin

Our little Corbin is 8 months old now I am a little behind on his updates. At 8 months he is crawling like a mad man and pulling up on everything he can. He's eating little crackers and puffs. He is such a happy little baby who loves his brother and wants to run around with him so bad. Taygen has started to play with his brother more like peek-a-boo and telling him your okay whenever Corbin cries. Corbin just provides a nice ease in our life because he just goes with the flow.

Taygen wanted to make sure his brother had plenty of toys to play with so he stacked them neatly on brothers lap so he could have his pick of the bunch.

First Day of School

Taygen has started preschool! Because he is still having some trouble with his speech they put him in the school district preschool. The first week was pretty rough on him. Taygen was not happy about being dropped off without mommy. We talked about it for weeks leading up to the big day and he was very excited but when the day arrived and we were at the school not so much. Each day we make improvements though and everyday but the first he is all smiles when I pick him up. He is able to get away from regular old mommy for a few hours and meet some new friends and play and learn. I think it will be great for him and know that soon he'll just run right in no problem:)

Christmas Time ( Oh yes I am that behind )

Christmas time was great this year we were a little busier than normal with Cj opening the new store so not all our decorations got up and there were no lights on the outside of the house but that didn't stop us from enjoying the christmas spirit. There was lots of good fun, lots of time to spend with family and lots of new activities for Taygen.

This year we made christmas cookies something I don;'t normally do seeing as I don't have a sweet tooth and until now my kiddies have been to young to be interested. This year Taygen and I had at it.

The decorating part was more Daddy and Taygen would decorate a cookie and then eat it, and so on and so forth. So we didn't end up with many finished at the end.

My kids as always made out like bandits in the present department both grandparents love to spoil these little kiddies:)

Family Photos

These are some our family photos for this year. I wasn't able to use my favorite friend photog because I was dying to take them at my mom's house, so I tried to do them myself. I got a few good shots everyone knows with kids it's really hard but I think a few turned out pretty good.

The only shots I could get of Corbin were either him looking down or profile he doesn't enjoy sunlight at all something he got from his daddy.

I was able to get a few of Taygen but again to actually get him to smile and look at the camera is quite a feat. So I had to settle for action shots.

Kinda cheese I know but I have about 1000 photos of the kids and maybe 40 of CJ & I we are always behind the camera instead of in front of it.

Our favorite family photo was saved for our holiday card but these are a few runners up

Birdie Experience

We have a park in town that has a man made pond with lots of birdies in it so for a little outing we decided to head on down and feed the birds.

Bowling

I've been wanting to take Taygen bowling for a while and we finally got around to it. Cj and I used to bowl all the time and we can get a little competitive. We had a good time with friends and the kids had a blast! We will defiantly be heading back.

If you didn't watch him he would quickly grab and ball and go throw it so you had to keep your eye on him

BOO!

This Halloween was lots of fun, if you can't tell Taygen was a surfer dude ( since last year he wouldn't wear an elaborate costume this year I had to think of something I knew we could keep on him ) and Corbin was a crab to go along with his brother. We had lots of fun trick or treating with friends Taygen picked up the concept very quick and had a blast going door to door. Corbin as always was great and was just content to go along with the group.
