Keeping up with the Kiddos

I decided to keep a kind of journal for all the fun things that go on in our family.

* Sweet baby Corbin is growing up so fast he is the best little baby he loves me the most and isn't too happy with anyone else ahh I must admit I kinda loves this knowing when he gets older daddy will become more of a favorite then mommy who has all the rules and makes them eat healthy things to not just a bag of chips for dinner.

*Taygen knows his way around town it seems like everyday he's giving me driving directions to get to favorite places like target or grandma's and grandpa's house he starts saying right there and points which direction he wants me to turn so he can navigate his way there it's hard when thats not where we are going he gets pretty upset when I don't follow his instructions.

* Tay loves his daddy and trys to mimic him so he now walks over to me and gives me a little kiss then goes and gets into his cozy coupe and say bye bye seeya. He sees daddy do it and he wants to be just like daddy.

*Today I did my normal routine of losing it on one of our dogs because he is such a fatty and stole a piece of toast from Taygen I yelled at him and then dragged him over to put him in time out ( the laundry room ). Later that day after Taygen ate lunch and got out of his high chair my other dog takes it upon himself to jump up into the high chair and get all the last crumbs left in the highchair. I notice Taygen come over and yell at the dog and got him out of his chair which is normal procedure for Taygen. The next part was new, he then chased the dog around with quick yells and took him by the collar and preceded to drag him ( very slowly of course ) over to the laundry room to put him in time out. I said nothing just watched him and laughed as he tried about three times to succeed in actually getting him al the way to the laundry room and shutting the door. What a cutie!

*Taygens new favorite food is POPCORN. He loves it so much if he even spots the bowl I normally put it in he will cry with anticipation. I went and bought those mini bags of microwave popcorn which Taygen loves so much he will eat the entire bowl full.

*I think Taygen likes to hear me say thank you to him because he has started to bring me things all the time with this proud look on his face. The other day I was sitting on one couch and Tay took every pillow one by one off the other couch and carried them over to me, even the huge back pillows.

*Tay is so funny since he is older now so I have let him have a little toddler size pillow and blanket to sleep with in his bed which has him sleeping better ( thank goodness ) But even during the day he will climb into our bed lay his little head down on one of the pillows and tucks himself into the covers and just lay there and smile:)

*Tay is talking more and more he loves to say hi to everyone and then when you leave he says hi again and waves. I keep saying b.b.bye so he will hear the b but no he just likes to say hi for his bye too.

*Why is it kids find the nastiest things so amusing. Taygen has taken up gagging himself. We can't quite figure out what would be so entertaining with trying to make yourself throw up but Taygen thinks it is very enjoyable. Probably because every time he does it mommy and daddy start telling him yucky Taygen yucky. Which to Taygen translates to if mommy and daddy think it's gross that means it is super cool!

*I am enjoying the coolness of a vegas summer morning by coolness I mean 90 instead of 110 outside. Taygen was puttering around in the backyard and I was reading. Anyone who knows Taygen knows he loves to open and shut any door which was no different this morning. I look up from my book to see not only was he opening and shutting the door but he was transporting the sand from the sand box to the floor of the family room one shovel full at a time. Thats what I get for trying to read while Tay is playing.

*So this morning we did our usual and got Tay out of bed and put him in ours while we watched the latest on the ongoing Olympics. They were talking about the American women's win on the all around gymnastics and were showing highlights. Suddenly perfect timing to the TV showing the girls finish with their arms high in the air Taygen throws his arms up too with accomplishment on his face. Cj and I died laughing.

*Taygen is my little dancing machine anytime he hears music he either does his little skipping dance or puts his little hands up and bounce them around it is so adorable to watch what a little cutie.

*After a pretty long morning with a very energetic 17 month old I was trying to clean up a mess of something that had spilled in the fridge. Taygen of course thought he would entertain himself with smashing the door onto me a few 10 or 20 times. Then it got a little quite I looked up and found Taygen sitting on the floor, he had somehow taken a bottle of salad dressing and also somehow opened it up and poured it onto the floor and preceded to swirl it around with his hands and feet. Ah the joy of children:)

*After a long day I finally climbed into bed Cj had already fallen asleep when I heard what I thought was laughing coming from the baby monitor. I ignored it at first but then this little laughing voice came through the monitor again. This was odd because Taygen had been asleep for a while now. I crept into the room and Taygen was really laughing even though he was fast asleep. He must have been having a really funny dream.

*Taygen is finally talking!! Yeah! Of course all he is saying is awggie ( doggie ) he also is saying Hi. Every once in a while we will get a ma ma and da da. Yeah!

One week old

Our little wiggle is one week old, I have decided to call him wiggle because when he is awake he is a total wiggle worm just boppin his head around and wiggling his little body. So far Corbin is a great little baby just content and happy to be doing about anything. He is already sleeping pretty well through out the night giving us nice 4 hour stretches between feedings when I say we I mean me of course since I am the food source. He doesn't mind the crazy noises his older brother provides in the house just hangs outs in his swing or sleeps quietly. Taygen is showing more and more interest in him but not enough to want to hold him or really get too close he prefers to just observe. No problems with jealously though he just goes about his business and lets the wiggle worm do the same.

Introducing

This is our newest little bundle of joy it's taking me forever to get organized enough to get photos plug the camera in and get on here so just one quick one to hold you over till I get more organized in my new chaos.

So for those of you who are interested in the tale of our newest edition being born read on:

Once again I was induced not something I was hoping for since with this pregnancy I was already having consistent contractions at 24 weeks. For some reason my body freaks when I am pregnant and then by month nine it just decides oh well I guess I don't mind this lets just stay pregnant. Anyways even with my anxiety about having another induction ( Taygen took a while and I was not pumped about having to hang out in the hospital for so long again ). My doctor was kind enough to schedule me on my due date so the torture of the last weeks of pregnancy could be over. So on Cj and I went to the hospital early in the morning the got me all hooked up to pitocin which thankfully I was already having lots of contractions so the meds just pumped those up and we were on our way. So after a about 7 hours of waiting all filled with steady dilation and an epidural of course we were ready for the event. Now with Tay the pushing was a good hour anyone who has seen his large noggin may have a guess why. So to say the least I was praying for a smaller head on this kid. So the nurse asks me to push and about half way through the push yells "stop stop stop! The baby is going to come out stop let me run and get the doctor" Sweet I thought to myself:) that was way easier than last time. Doc comes in 2 quick pushes and out pops our little Corbin. Needless to say the easy and quick delivery and realitivly quick labor provided a way easier recovery. So we are all doing good healthy and working out our system. We are very happy to have such a precious little one to add to our already great little family.

Baby Cox

Our little bundle arrived Corbin Cox on June 3rd at 5:29 pm. He was 8lbs just like Tay and 19.5 inches long. Labor and delivery went really well. Last night was the first night we actually got a little bit of sleep so pictures and story to follow.

Guests Beware

Yes I know I may be a tad crazy but can't deny anymore that potty training Taygen may be possible. Even though a month from now I will be sleep deprived and struggling to work out the new way of life that our sweet little bundle of joy will bring I have to try since one in diapers instead of two would be a dream. Taygen has been showing interest in potty training and we have had some mild success so we decided we should a least try and just see how it goes. So as the title explains guests beware there just may be a pant-less 2 year old running around our house.

It's That Time of Year Again

It's heating up here in vegas which is good and bad. Good because Taygen finds a lot more enjoyment in his days playing outside with water, finding bugs, and running around. Bad because I HATE the heat and being preggo is not improving my ability to enjoy the warmth of the approaching summer. As with last year water is Taygen's favorite thing he wants to play in it all day long.

We are too deprived to have a pool so Taygen makes due and just fills up the lid to his water table so he can hop in.

Rain Showers and Galoshes

The weather here took a sudden cold front and yesterday evening we had a little rain shower. Taygen absolutely had to go out and play in it and you would assume that is why he has the galoshes on but no. Taygen has grown to have a little obsession with said galoshes he wants to wear them all the time which surprises me since I bought them months ago and he refused to even let me get them near his feet. But one day he found them and wanted them on and now he always wants them on ( this very moment he is wearing them over his jammies ).
