Keeping up with the Kiddos

I decided to keep a kind of journal for all the fun things that go on in our family.

* Sweet baby Corbin is growing up so fast he is the best little baby he loves me the most and isn't too happy with anyone else ahh I must admit I kinda loves this knowing when he gets older daddy will become more of a favorite then mommy who has all the rules and makes them eat healthy things to not just a bag of chips for dinner.

*Taygen knows his way around town it seems like everyday he's giving me driving directions to get to favorite places like target or grandma's and grandpa's house he starts saying right there and points which direction he wants me to turn so he can navigate his way there it's hard when thats not where we are going he gets pretty upset when I don't follow his instructions.

* Tay loves his daddy and trys to mimic him so he now walks over to me and gives me a little kiss then goes and gets into his cozy coupe and say bye bye seeya. He sees daddy do it and he wants to be just like daddy.

*Today I did my normal routine of losing it on one of our dogs because he is such a fatty and stole a piece of toast from Taygen I yelled at him and then dragged him over to put him in time out ( the laundry room ). Later that day after Taygen ate lunch and got out of his high chair my other dog takes it upon himself to jump up into the high chair and get all the last crumbs left in the highchair. I notice Taygen come over and yell at the dog and got him out of his chair which is normal procedure for Taygen. The next part was new, he then chased the dog around with quick yells and took him by the collar and preceded to drag him ( very slowly of course ) over to the laundry room to put him in time out. I said nothing just watched him and laughed as he tried about three times to succeed in actually getting him al the way to the laundry room and shutting the door. What a cutie!

*Taygens new favorite food is POPCORN. He loves it so much if he even spots the bowl I normally put it in he will cry with anticipation. I went and bought those mini bags of microwave popcorn which Taygen loves so much he will eat the entire bowl full.

*I think Taygen likes to hear me say thank you to him because he has started to bring me things all the time with this proud look on his face. The other day I was sitting on one couch and Tay took every pillow one by one off the other couch and carried them over to me, even the huge back pillows.

*Tay is so funny since he is older now so I have let him have a little toddler size pillow and blanket to sleep with in his bed which has him sleeping better ( thank goodness ) But even during the day he will climb into our bed lay his little head down on one of the pillows and tucks himself into the covers and just lay there and smile:)

*Tay is talking more and more he loves to say hi to everyone and then when you leave he says hi again and waves. I keep saying b.b.bye so he will hear the b but no he just likes to say hi for his bye too.

*Why is it kids find the nastiest things so amusing. Taygen has taken up gagging himself. We can't quite figure out what would be so entertaining with trying to make yourself throw up but Taygen thinks it is very enjoyable. Probably because every time he does it mommy and daddy start telling him yucky Taygen yucky. Which to Taygen translates to if mommy and daddy think it's gross that means it is super cool!

*I am enjoying the coolness of a vegas summer morning by coolness I mean 90 instead of 110 outside. Taygen was puttering around in the backyard and I was reading. Anyone who knows Taygen knows he loves to open and shut any door which was no different this morning. I look up from my book to see not only was he opening and shutting the door but he was transporting the sand from the sand box to the floor of the family room one shovel full at a time. Thats what I get for trying to read while Tay is playing.

*So this morning we did our usual and got Tay out of bed and put him in ours while we watched the latest on the ongoing Olympics. They were talking about the American women's win on the all around gymnastics and were showing highlights. Suddenly perfect timing to the TV showing the girls finish with their arms high in the air Taygen throws his arms up too with accomplishment on his face. Cj and I died laughing.

*Taygen is my little dancing machine anytime he hears music he either does his little skipping dance or puts his little hands up and bounce them around it is so adorable to watch what a little cutie.

*After a pretty long morning with a very energetic 17 month old I was trying to clean up a mess of something that had spilled in the fridge. Taygen of course thought he would entertain himself with smashing the door onto me a few 10 or 20 times. Then it got a little quite I looked up and found Taygen sitting on the floor, he had somehow taken a bottle of salad dressing and also somehow opened it up and poured it onto the floor and preceded to swirl it around with his hands and feet. Ah the joy of children:)

*After a long day I finally climbed into bed Cj had already fallen asleep when I heard what I thought was laughing coming from the baby monitor. I ignored it at first but then this little laughing voice came through the monitor again. This was odd because Taygen had been asleep for a while now. I crept into the room and Taygen was really laughing even though he was fast asleep. He must have been having a really funny dream.

*Taygen is finally talking!! Yeah! Of course all he is saying is awggie ( doggie ) he also is saying Hi. Every once in a while we will get a ma ma and da da. Yeah!

We had another trip to disneyland with some good friends a little while ago. Everyone had lots of fun. Even CJ. They boys did great with the long day of fun. It was unfortunately very busy that day but we were still able to make it on a good amount of rides. Corbin was a trooper, he was running a fever that day with what we found out a few days later was another ear infection. He still had fun though and didn't let it get him too down. I barely took any photos though! ( whats wrong with me!) so these are the only ones that I took that also turned out.

Once again I told myself make sure this year you do a little photo shoot with the boys and get a nice photo of them together in their Sunday outfits. Once again I did not do this and am left with just a couple photos of them finding eggs. They both were very into the egg hunting process though, it was fun and of course seeing that there was candy inside didn't hurt.

Hike

One lovely weekend we decided to go on a quick hike with some good friends. With 5 kids in tow we headed out to find this waterfall. The hike was really easy just a flat trail that meandered along. The only thing was they didn't have the part the led to the waterfall marked so it was a bit of a challenge to find but we did eventually find it. The questions is could we find it again? The kids and parents had a blast and it was nice getting outside into nature.

As Corbin says 50-100 times a day.. MOTORCYCLES!

This is our boys new hobby. When I say boys I mean Taygen, Corbin and CJ of course. Corbin wants only motorcycle toys and he has to bring them along everywhere we go. Most fights between the boys are over the motorcycle toys. Every time we walk in the garage to go somewhere Corbin has to point out the motorcycles " mama, dadas cycles, ride ". I don't mind it it's fun to see the boys so excited about something.

Our motorcycles have to have riders on them as well or they aren't good enough. I usually put the little guys back on the bikes 50 times per day.

This is the first time we actually got Taygen on one of the bikes. This is a smaller bike that i'm sure one day he will be able to ride on his own.

Corbin loves just sitting on them even though he asks for rides everyday, once it's on he is no longer interested.

I love that Taygen will actually pose for me now with that cute little squinty smile of his.

This picture is a little out of order. CJ and a group of his buddies all signed up for a race at Lake Havasu. They are a lot older now then they used to be but I think they all still had a lot of fun. It was fun for us too the kids got to just play and we got to hang out and chat. When I say kids I meant Taygen, Corbin was UNBELIEVABLY grumpy the whole trip. We later found out he had ear infections so it's hard to blame the guy but he pretty much looked like ( above ) this the whole time. It was a fun but very frustrating day for me. It started with no sleep a really grumpy 2 year old and a car that dies twice and had to be jumped. Still I look back on the trip fondly and we will probably have more of them in our future.

This is acutally after the race. CJ was exhausted. It was a really hard course.

They boys or I guess now we can call them MEN!. They all did a great job and no one got hurt. That was the main goal of the weekend, no one get hurt!

Working at the Car Wash

One warm saturday morning we were just hanging outside and I decided we should have a little car wash. The boys had a blast soaping up their little cars and give them a good shine.

Here a a few random photos from the last month or so. I figured I would just post them together since they aren't really post worthy by themselves. Enjoy.

Taygen showing off his boots! These boots have become the only footwear Taygen will wear. I bought them just for fun during a " woody " stage and he hated them for months. Then one day he spotted them in his closet and it was suddenly love at first sight.

Corbin's new best friends

It so fun to see the differences in your children. While Taygen tends to be more on the scared side Corbin is more fearless. I went and got some ladybugs for my garden and Taygen while very interested just stood back and watched. Corbin though wanted me to keep putting them on him so he could watch them crawl all over his arms.

Taygen loves for us to build him a house that he can hang out in and eat popcorn or watch a movie. Take note those boots stay on all day we can't even take them off when we are at home.
